This is a Barnet Borough watch message.
We have been notified by DEYA the agents for Yellow Pages that commencing December 1st they will be delivering in the following post codes:
N2,N3, N10,NW4 and NW11. The work will take about 3 weeks.
To minimise the risk of burglaries all delivery agents are asked not to leave directories on view from the street. However, it is unavoidable that some books will be left outside and we are hoping to enlist the support of neighbours wherever possible. |

| This is a Barnet Boroughwatch message: We are currently experiencing a rise in thefts from motor vehicle in the Borough. In particular in the NW2 and NW4 areas. Also within Brent Cross car parks, Holiday Inn and local Sports Centre car parks. Those involved are on the look out particularly for satellite navigation equipment an item that is becoming quite common. These systems are often held in a cradle which sticks to either the window or onto the dash board. Owners of vehicles are parking and removing the actual device but leaving the cradle in- situ. They then place the device either in a glove box or under a seat. The cradle indicates to offenders that there is a satellite system in the car, which is then broken into, searched and property taken. Police advice is that owners should not only remove the device but also the cradle itself which is usually only held by suction pads. Place the whole system in the boot of your car out of sight or take it with you. Some of the newer devices with Blue Tooth can even be identified by use of mobile phone technology which can indicate to a person which vehicle has a device in it. | Remember the Barnet Neighbourhood watch is currently running a boot it or lose it campaign. Why don't you click here to review details on how you can reduce your chances of becoming a victim of car crime. {mos_smf_discuss:Discuss} |
