Scope of Service (Please note that this service is for vulnerable older and special needs barnet residents only) The Safer Homes Scheme is a new service for vulnerable older and disabled people who have security needs at home. The service aims to prevent vulnerable people and properties becoming targets of domestic burglary and distraction burglary. We aim to reduce the fear of crime through awareness sessions for vulnerable people and those who work with them in the community. Working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, Ealing Beesafe and the London Fire Brigade the scheme offers: - Initial safety and security check.
- Installation of security measures incl. locks and bolts for doors and windows, spy holes, external lighting, chains and memo minders.
- Preventative measures e.g. fitting smoke alarms, garden clearance, minor repairs to windows, fences and gates.
- Awareness training for vulnerable people and those who work with them.
