Most of you (90% to be exact) press the Big blue E every time you need to access the internet. Problem is that every time you do this you increase your chances of loading something bad onto your machine. Some of the Bad things include Spyware, Malware, Virus’s and Trojans. Most of you don’t know what they are but trust me… they’re bad.
I will go into what they are and how to prevent them in a later aricle but at the moment we have a more dangerous and imminent threat to your computer, that you need to do something about immediately to stop your computer from being taken over……
As recently as 3 days ago a security researcher discovered something very scary. Through putting some special code on a webpage, he was able to install any sort of software on your machine, without your permission. The researcher then did a foolish thing and “published” the instructions on how to do this on any website. This irresponsible action means that there are a lot of dodgy characters on the internet who are as we speak customising their webpages so that people like you, who inadvertently visit their site, may become their victims. What sorts of things can they install? Well pretty much anything, the current favourites are called keyloggers which basically capture passwords and credit card information. So unlease you are wildly silly and don’t care about your privacy. It is recommended that you do something about it immediately! What can you do ? Microsoft have published a temporary work around until they can fix the internet explorer. However the solution I recommend, and what other IT experts do on their own computers is that they install another program to access the internet. The program that is universally recognised by all Computer experts as being the most SECURE, the FASTEST and most stable is called Firefox. This can be downloaded by clicking on the following button:
To allay any fears, - it will NOT change you email program!
- It will NOT cost you anything extra
However IT WILL Prevent you installing any malicious software Prevent you getting any virus’s from websites Increase the speed you access the internet Bring you much happiness through out the years I sincerely hope you follow my advice, which costs nothing, however repairs and reinstallationo of your computer systems, does tend to cost quite a bit. In fact one journalist in recent New Yorker article suggested that its cheaper to get a new computer than it is to fix a spyware problem. So the choice is yours…. Sincerely The Localwatch Geek |
