From Boroughwatch: This is an urgent police warning. There has been a recent increase in Distraction burglary offences across the Borough. In particular the methods used at the moment are either Gas Board workers being let in or more worryingly two recent case involve bogus Police Officers.

One male and one female both white in their thirties. They have a silver type badge in a small wallet which they show quickly. They have stated they are carrying out surveys on the elderly to see if they should have CCTV fitted. Once inside one keeps victim talking the other carries out the theft after victims disclose where they keep their money thinking the Police will advise. Please give out the usual advice .Don\'t let them in! If unsure,if they are Police call us first we will not mind. Talk through the door or intercom, do not open it.
